In this brand new JumpStart title (be careful to look for the word “Advanced” on the box), kids join Frankie the Dog, CJ Frog, and Edison Firefly at the JumpStart Intelligence Agency. They become secret agents to solve five missions, all involving undoing the dastardly deeds of the evil snail, Dr. O.
The missions send children around the world to seven different locations to help undercover agents. They assist the agents by playing educational games covering a typical second-grade curriculum. By completing the educational games, players earn needed gadgets to create machines that will fix the problems caused by Dr. O.
The JumpStart All Stars, seven JumpStart characters from previous titles who now represent different learning styles, make this title unique. The All Stars pop up when a child is struggling and they teach a core concept in a cinematic tutorials.
By selecting the character that represents the learning style most suited to their temperament, youngsters can learn the core concept more effectively. For example, if children learn best by reading material, Eleanor should tutor them because she is “The Reader.”
A learning styles diagnostic test is offered at the beginning of the software so kids and parents know which All-Stars will be most useful.
Some of the material covered in the seven multi-leveled games can be very challenging—especially in the music and art appreciation areas. Parents may want to be around to help when children play the first time.
