The “Cluefinders” are a popular tweener detective group made up of four brainy but hip computer characters. In this, their seventh appearance, they are investigating a mystery set in an abandoned amusement park.
The Cluefinders find the curator of the local art museum locked in a seat of an old amusement ride. To rescue the curator and solve the mysteries of this park, the player helps the Cluefinders solve a series of nine logic puzzles. The puzzles cover pattern recognition, sequencing, hypothesis testing, and spatial reasoning.
Children become engaged in this mystery because it has the right combination of scariness and intrigue. This software rates a five stars because its logic puzzles are fun, academically sound, and can be played repeatedly. If you so desire, the puzzles will adapt to the child’s ability, so that the activities constantly remain challenging but doable.
Another real plus to this software is that it comes with a second CD called the Real World Adventure Kit. This kit has additional activities for children to explore including code making, sound transforming, map making, and money tracking. The kit also contains a log book for kids to use and helpful information on how children can start their own club.
